Home made chocolate
By Marika Bende
I've been in Romania for holidays this winter, and I got to eat the home made ciocolata (ciocolata de casa), which is so typical of that region. And I mean typical, as I haven't seen this type of chocolate anywhere else. It's very quick to make, and simple too. You'll have it done in max. 15 minutes. 200 ml water, 500 g sugar, 50 g cacao , 500 g milk powder, 1 package butter (the 100 g one). Mix the sugar with the water and put it on the fire, mixing all the time, to not burn. Boil the syrup for about 8 minutes, after which take it from the stove. Add the butter, mix again and once all is melted and mixed nicely, add the cocoa and milk powder, mixing strongly until the whole thing gets rather hard and homongenous. Then pour it in something and put it to cold (fridge or if it's cold outside, balcny does too), and leave it overnight. Yiummie! |
